Kingfisher Fishing: Prints

I was inspired to paint this piece after observing a kingfisher dive bomb the pond on my parent’s property in Newport, WA while camping. Prior to this observation I had not seen a kingfisher in action. I researched what kind of bird this successful hunter was and ended up falling in love with the beautiful blue hues. Much like chickadees and hummingbirds this bird has become one of my favorites to paint. As you may know by now, I love nature, birds, animals and of course camping which is where most of my inspiration comes from. I hope you enjoy this piece.
